Green The most closely mowed areas of grass on the course, are where the hole is located and players putt.

Cart Path A narrow road that defines the route where carts should travel as it transports golfers along the course.
Person closest to the cart path on their drive gets 1 point. Keep track of every hole. Highest point total wins.

Fairway The center, short-mown portion of a golf hole in between the teeing area and the green.
Low tee to green. Keep track of putts to subtract from total score.

Tee Box The area where play begins in a hole of golf.

Longest drive on each hole receives 1 point.

Everyone gets 5 poker chips. Players with the most remaining win.

Worm burner: A golf shot (not a putt) in which the ball never rises off the ground.
A worm burner is not a pretty shot. Give yourself a P on your score card if you and/or your partners think some of your shots are pretty. Most P’s wins.

Slice: When a right-handed player strikes the ball such that it curves sharply from left to right.
Everyone gets a slice of the score today. Team score sliced (divided by the number in the team) for the total.

Straightest drive wins the hole. Keep track on each hole. If you can’t decide, give it to each drive that might be the straightest.

Foot wedge: kicking the ball (which, of course, is against the Rules) in order to improve the position of the golf ball.
A foot wedge can be used once per hole for no additional score. Scramble format.

Each team has a bag with scores on cards. Three say “Actual Score” 1 says ‘Birdie’, 1 ‘Actual Score plus 3’. The winner of the previous hole gets to draw first if they don’t like the draw they can give it to another player and draw again. They must keep their second draw. Everyone else then draws a card.

Gimme: A putt that is so close to the hole that it’s assumed that the player will make it.
Gimme putts allowed today. Low net score.

Mulligan: In casual play only, a “do-over” shot made to replace a poorly hit shot, taken without counting the stroke toward the score.
Each group is a team. Each team player has one mulligan per hole. Lowest score on the hole is the team score.
